Aims And Objectives
Vision Statement
"That all Queensland people with specific learning disabilities/difficulties will receive equitable educational, social and employment opportunities which will allow for outcomes commensurate with their potential and their personal input."

Aims:
- To increase community awareness of the nature and implications of the problems that people with specific learning disabilities and learning difficulties experience, and who, despite average to above average intellectual ability and adequate educational opportunity, fail to make satisfactory progress in one or more of the following areas: listening, speaking, reading, writing, spelling, performing mathematical tasks, reasoning and learning how to learn.
- To advocate by lobbying policy makers to provide the necessary support facilities and education opportunities to enable people of all ages with specific learning disabilities and learning difficulties to reach their full life potential.
- To promote and disseminate research into specific learning disabilities and learning difficulties.
Objectives:
- To provide services for parents, professionals and other clients through the website, advisory help line, referral to professionals for assessment, therapy or tutoring, quarterly newsletter, library borrowing, publications for purchase and seminars.
- To network and lobby significant and related government and non government organisations through personal and committee representation.
- To participate in research projects which would identify specific learning disabilities and learning difficulties and provide strategies for effective intervention.
- To disseminate information about specific learning disabilities and learning difficulties through a range of mediums such as workshops, seminars, website and the advisory line.
