Event Details

This one hour information session will look at a screening of Outside the Square Film 1 — Understanding and Identifying Dyslexia followed by a Q and A forum with the film producer Tanya Forbes. 

The scene is set with our brave and inspirational children supported by the proactive parent advocates. They share their struggles and difficulties encountered in the current education system. Through their shared experiences and supported by dedicated teachers and leading researchers, we develop a deep understanding of dyslexia.

Presenter: Tanya Forbes is a teacher, parent advocate and an education advisor with Speld Qld. She is the creator and producer of the Outside the Square series of professional learning films. As founder of the Gold Coast Dyslexia Support Group, she is active in education reform and advocacy to improve the learning outcomes of students with dyslexia and related learning differences.
