Dyscalculia
This webinar will look at the reasons why so many children struggle with maths, including dyscalculia and maths anxiety. Indicators of dyscalculia will be detailed together with a review of current screening tools to identify dyscalculia.
We will also explore a range of strategies to support children with dyscalculia including techniques such as visualisation and bar modelling. How to get the most out of concrete manipulatives will also be explored.
The training will be very practical with strategies that practitioners will be able to implement straight away in their teaching.
The training will refer to research in this area, from practitioners and researchers including Prof. Steve Chinn, Prof. Brian Butterworth and Prof. Jo Boaler.
