Advocate for your child at School

Have you ever felt that your hands are tied and that your voice isn’t being heard with regards to concerns you have for your child’s learning program at school?

Do you want to better understand how you as a parent can advocate successfully for greater support for your child in school?

This workshop is designed to empower parents with the vocabulary, knowledge and basic skills to provide effective advocacy for their own child/ren at a school level.  While ever school is different and offers varying degrees of support and opportunity for diverse learners, there are some common strategies and shared vocabulary that can help you to better communicate your child’s needs and your concerns to their school.  While we can’t perform miracles or turn pumpkins into stage coaches, we can certainly gain a better understanding of how to communicate our child’s needs to their school, compassionately and effectively.

Please note this workshop will be delivered online through the platform, Zoom. You will receive any handouts, together with the Zoom workshop link via email on the morning of Thursday, 11 March 2021.  If you have not received an email by 12:00pm on Thursday, please check your junk mail.

IMPORTANT: Please ensure you have Zoom downloaded and updated prior to the workshop start time.
